Like a River Flows

“I would love to live'

Like a river flows,

Carried by the surprise

Of its own unfolding.”

-John O’Donohue

Amidst the craziness of modern life, I’m finding more and more the importance of nature as a calming and centering force in my life. When I don’t get a chance to walk outside, I tend to feel more anxious, scattered and generally unwell. After spending some time in Yosemite recently, I can’t help wondering if so many of our modern ailments are connected to this disconnect. That being said, I’m a big fan of modern conveniences! Like so many other things, it seems to be about finding the balance. As the year starts, I’m focusing my energy on taking it slow, finding the flow, and thinking about the element of water. I hope to create and/or highlight some pieces around this theme. I’m a bit nervous about what the future holds this year, and remembering the slow patient movement and power of water helps me to remember will hopefully help me to reframe events as they unfold.

It’s been an incredibly busy fall, and I first want to thank anyone who came out to visit me at the Alta Arts Collective show in November and . The College Women’s Club of Pasadena art sale, which raised funds for for the education of women and children in Pasadena. I’m excited to announce a collaboration with a new gift shop in town—Adelaide, located at 2595 Fair Ooks Avenue in Altadena. At this shop you can get beautiful flower arrangements as well as the most amazing collection of unique gift—I cannot go in the shop without buying something. At Adelaide you can find some of my greeting cards, prints, and more items to come in the future.
